What makes a paver patio last

Base depth

Patios get one depth, driveways another. Building both the same way is why so many driveways rut.

Compaction in lifts

Aggregate is compacted in layers, not dumped and rolled once. It is slow, and it is the whole difference.

Water out, always

Every surface pitches away from structures, with drains where pitch alone cannot do the job.

Patio and driveway questions

Ask us a patio and driveway question

How long does a patio take?

It depends on size, access and how much grading the site needs. You get a dated schedule at contract rather than a guess now.

Pavers or concrete?

Pavers cost more up front, flex with frost and repair individually. Concrete costs less and cracks on its own schedule.

Will pavers sink?

Not on proper base. When one settles from an unrelated cause, it lifts and resets in an afternoon.

Can you fix my existing patio?

Often yes. Sunken and heaved areas can be lifted, re-based and reset without a full replacement.

Do you seal hardscape?

On request. Sealing helps with stains and color, and it is not mandatory on quality pavers.
