How we build gunite pools

Steel and shotcrete

Reinforcing is tied to plan and inspected before concrete is sprayed. This is the stage that decides whether the pool is still sound in thirty years.

Cure time is real

A gunite shell needs weeks of curing and water care before finish. We schedule around that instead of rushing it.

Freeze-thaw detailing

Bond beams, coping and expansion joints are detailed for Nebraska. Skipping that is why so many older concrete pools crack at the edge.

Gunite pool questions

Ask us a gunite pool question

How long does a gunite pool take?

Plan on ten to sixteen weeks. The shell cure and the finish schedule are what stretch it beyond a vinyl or fiberglass build.

Does a gunite pool cost more to own?

Somewhat. Plaster surfaces are porous, so chemistry and brushing matter more, and interiors are refinished every ten to fifteen years.

Is pebble worth the upgrade?

If you want the longest-lasting interior and a deeper water color, yes. Plaster is still the value option and finishes beautifully.

Can you build a vanishing edge in Omaha?

On the right lot, yes. It needs grade change, a catch basin and careful engineering, all of which we price honestly up front.

Can you resurface my existing concrete pool?

Yes. Resurfacing, retiling and new coping are a large part of our remodel work.
